For more than 34 years, the Nigeria Media Merit Award (NMMA) has recognised excellence in Nigerian journalism and media practice. Yet much of this institutional legacy remained outside the digital environment, with historical records largely maintained in paper-based and fragmented formats.
Before the engagement, NMMA had no official website, online award-entry system, digital archive, searchable winners database or centralised cloud-based information repository.
Steve Alabi Interactive was engaged to transform NMMA’s institutional legacy into a modern digital ecosystem capable of preserving its history, improving accessibility, strengthening stakeholder engagement and supporting the future growth of the awards programme.
The project involved the digitisation and organisation of 1,200+ records and 78 historical documents, including information covering 34 award editions and 1,078 winners, while establishing the digital infrastructure required to manage and communicate NMMA’s continuing activities.
OUR ENGAGEMENT INCLUDED:
STRATEGIC VALUE
The engagement transformed NMMA from an institution with a largely physical and fragmented historical archive into a digitally connected organization with the infrastructure to preserve its legacy, communicate its value and build upon it. By bringing digital transformation, knowledge management, technology and creative communications together, the project turned 34 years of media excellence into an institutional asset capable of serving NMMA’s stakeholders and future generations.
