The Common African Agro-Parks (CAAPs) programme is an ambitious pan-African initiative focused on strengthening agricultural production, agro-industrial development and regional economic integration.

Through a Technical Cooperation Programme, the FAO Regional Office for Africa supported the African Union Commission in strengthening the capacity of the CAAPs Secretariat hosted by the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA).

Steve Alabi Interactive was engaged to strengthen the visibility, awareness, communication and knowledge-sharing dimensions of the CAAPs programme, working within a complex environment involving international development institutions, regional bodies, technical stakeholders and programme leadership.

Our role was to translate a technically complex, multi-stakeholder programme into clear, credible and compelling communications capable of supporting stakeholder engagement, sensitisation and advocacy.

OUR ENGAGEMENT INCLUDED:

  • Development of the CAAPs communications and visibility strategy and implementation plan in collaboration with FARA’s Knowledge Management, Communication and Learning Cluster.
  • Production and publication of CAAPs implementation progress reports for stakeholder engagement and programme communication.
  • Development of branded communication and visibility materials, including banners, flyers and supporting materials for CAAPs meetings and engagements.
  • Strengthening of the CAAPs digital presence across FARA’s websites and databases, ensuring programme information was professionally structured, packaged and presented.
  • Enhancement and production of CAAPs audiovisual content, incorporating interviews and commentary from CAAPs leaders and agro-industrial park stakeholders.
  • Production of a flagship audiovisual presentation combining the virtual CAAPs infrastructure model with stakeholder interviews and supporting footage to communicate the programme’s vision and potential.

STRATEGIC VALUE

The engagement brought strategy, content, digital communications, stakeholder engagement and audiovisual storytelling together within a coherent visibility programme—helping CAAPs communicate a complex pan-African development initiative with greater clarity, credibility and impact.
